Happy Sabbath Morning!

It has been WAY to long since I last posted...and thought today would be a great day to say Good Morning! I had a super fantastic Valentine's Weekend! It started out going to Statesboro to have dinner and an evening with Matt! We went to a Thai place that was wonderful!!! Coconut Thai is the place and FANTASTIC is the review!!! THANKS Matt! We then got to see where he is going to school Georgia Southern University, and walk around campus. It was so fun taking three strong and active dogs around, and letting them swim in the lake on campus!
Saturday, Mark had his usual funtastic candy grams, Delicious and entertaining! Mark sent Hannah and I on a makeover date! It was sooo fun! We went to my hairdresser and each got highlights and cuts! It was Hannah's first highlights, and the results were great! We then went shopping and found her some new Sunday shoes! A great time!
Then Saturday night Mark and I went out for Japanese food! I LOVE this place! Way too much food to eat, but GREAT leftovers for today!
So..today is a fine day to remember to LOVE what has come my way! This is easy!!

However, some days aren't so easy...at work there is often conflicts, and I am learning to stay out of other's garbage! I am getting better at this, so it is a great skill I am learning. Not always easy, but getting easier!

I hope everybody has a fantastic Sabbath Day today!

Happy New Year!

I love my family! I love my husband...I love my children! I LOVE my grandson! I love my extended family... I aspire to be just like one of my nieces IF I ever grow up! She is wise beyond years...and always know what and when to say it! Thanks!!!

Shauna started me, last year on having a theme...and without even realizing I had it already decided for me this year...it was.

Last General Conference Elder Joseph B. Wirthlin gave a MOST fantastic talk entitled, "Come what may, and love it" I decided then that that would be my motto...or theme for my life, starting with this year!

The way we react to adversity can be a major factor in how happy and successful we can be in life. Isn't that soooo profound!?

I put it to the test yesterday...and it helped a bad day stay bad...but I could laugh at it..and didn't stress out as bad as I usually do!

If you haven't read it...take a minute or two and read it.
May this year be filled with laughter, seeking for the eternal, remembering the principle of compensation..the Lord's way...and putting our trust in our Father in Heaven!

Come What May, and LOVE it!

Geri's Terrible, Horrible, No good VERY bad Day!

I love children's books, and one of my favorites is Alexander's Terrible, Horrible, No good Very Bad Day! This poor boy has a BAD day... nobody like him, everybody gets what they want but him! He get into trouble at his dad's office...for calling China...and has to eat non sugar cereal WITHOUT prizes! So..his solution to it all is to move to Australia! I think I'll join him there!

Yesterday was one of those days! Didn't sleep well...got up too early...hurt my shoulder...broke a bottle of A1 sauce...which also chipped my tile floor as it hit...wore the before mentioned A1 sauce therefore STINKING of A1 sauce( I HATE A1 sauce by the way!) Had to keep two dogs and one grandson OUT of the A1 sauce..and broken glass...which they ALL thought was TERRIBLE!!! a dog's and boys ultimate playground...A1 sauce ALL over the kitchen floor...great finger painting medium! (Try it sometime!) Anyways...back to my day....
So it is now cleaned up...grandson back in bed..as he could not cope that early in the morning..as it was only 6:15am!!! and he had been up for 1 1/2 hours!!! and head to the bath tub! YEAH...I no longer smelled of ...you know! I LOVE baths...and it was great to be clean...the rest of the day was going to be fantastic! WELL....as I was drying off...something in my shoulder went chrrrrip...PAIN followed with movement. Oh well..the day MUST go on! Get dressed because it could NOT get any worse! Mark had to go to the High School to sign out Graham's cell phone that was taken away by a teacher..so he was gone...Let's take out the garbage to the bin on the back deck...wait..did I tell you that a big storm woke me at 0400h??? well it did! so...the deck is wet...NO BIG DEAL..USUALLY!
The garbage safely deposited in the bin..let's head back in to finish getting ready for work! Open door...step in the door with right foot...it hits the tile...wet...and you guessed it..slipped...my left leg caught on the threshold...bruise on the shin...BUT...as I reached out to catch myself...to save my knee from hitting the tile...pain again shot through my shoulder as it was the same one already pulled! I went in and cried!!! THen realized that there was no one to hear me or give me any pitty...so I finished getting ready for work...ahhhhh get away from the horrible accident prone morning!

The drive was great..light traffic...no rude drivers that morning...somebody else was having a bad day as I drove past and accident..poor people! I got to work on time...YEAH for me! but alas...the office manager was not yet there..oh well, she'll be right behind me!..so will the receptionist! so I start getting ready for my patients...say hi to the two Docs...and basically ignore the patients who are filling up the waiting room...Not my job to check them in...the receptionists will be here any minute! NOT...soon it is late for the patients appointments..and NOBODY else is there! I try the office manager..no answer. The other receptionist comes bursting through the door and says..."Who have you heard from?" NOT a good thing to hear! Comes to be that the other nurse had a sick child..so she was not coming in that morning...it was ok..as they only had OB patients..easy!...The first mentioned receptionist had a message left with the other nurse...by a nuclear medicine tech...(following me???) that she was having a nuclear test and would be late! Nobody knew! So the other receptionist...looked at me...who was looking at my doc...and we.....
LAUGHED!

Then said...let's get to work! My Doc is great....poor guy ended up taking back his first two patients back on his own...and I did not even see them! it was a comedy I am sure looking on...SO..Tiffany gets there...so she takes over the other docs patients...so I can get to mine...BUT the easy OB day turns out to be complicated OB day...with complicated procedures and her not knowing his routine..or where anything is...Again..what can one do...but LAUGH!
We made it though the morning...FINALLY...so we went for lunch! and the wind was blowing sooo hard it took two big girls to push the door open...again...we LAUGHED!

I think I'll move to Australia!

Happy Birthday to MY mom...my kids grandma~!

Today would have been my mom's 91st birthday...unfortunately she passed away almost 8 years ago.
But I have been thinking of her lots today, and have been trying to post on my family site..but haven't been able to..so I got a great idea to post here instead!
Things I have been remembering about my mom:
*She loved music..she would sing all day...doing chores, walking, playing, or falling asleep! One of her favorite songs/hymns was "I am a Child of God" That is what we sang to her as she passed away. The fourth versewas especially appropriate for her then. "I am a Child of God. His promises are sure. Celestial glory shall be mine, if I can but endure." She endured! The grandkids also sang it at her funeral! It was beautiful! Thanks..I am sure it was not an easy thing to do...but it was her one wish for her funeral! It was from her I gained my love of music!
*She also had stories and poems for lots of situations...for example...when we would argue..."Two little kittens one stormy night, began to quarrel and then to fight. One had a mouse, the other had none, and that's the way the quarrel begun. "I'll have that mouse!" said the older cat. "You'll have that mouse, we'll see about that!" As I told you before it was a stormy night, when the two little kittens began to fight. Then along came the old woman with her sweeping broom, and swept those two little kittens right out of that room. Out in the cold and frost and snow, the two little kittens had no place to go. So they curled themselves up on the mat by the door, while the angry old woman finished sweeping the floor. Then they crept in as quiet as mice, covered in snow and cold as ice. They figured it was best that night to lie down and sleep than to quarrel and fight!"
or....The poem "Who loved her best" I do not remember that one completely..but you can find it online.
or..I am a daughter of Royal Birth, my Father is Father of heaven and earth....
*mom loved to bake! Cinnamon rolls..brownies..bread...cookies...butterhorns...YUMMY! When we lived in the frozen north of Ft. McMurray..she used the trunk of her car as extra freezer space...which always had something yummy in it! Usually to give away to someone else!
*She was the queen of service! Her motto was..."If you feel down and sorry for yourself, get out and do something for someone else!" Do you know what? it works~!!!~! Sometimes I need to remember that! She served her family...her church...her neighbors..but ultimately it was her Heavenly Father whom she served...Mosiah 2:17"...when ye are in the service of your fellow beings, ye are only in the service of your God"!! She loved to serve her God!
*Mom LOVED her family! EVERY ONE OF US!!! Even when we least deserved it! She especially loved the grandchildren..and now I am a gramma..I KNOW what it is like! It is different! I remember feeling it was such an honor to give up my room for the grandkids to visit!
She knew us too! When I would have a bad day..and living away from home..FREQUENTLY I would get a call from her just checking in...had a feeling I needed to check in she would say!
* Mom LOVES her Heavenly Father! She showed everybody this in her actions..NOT the big things...but the small things...her example, her service, her love, her....Her testimony was built on the rock..as said in Helaman 5:12 and Matthew 16. I know she is in a fantastic place..continuing what she was doing here...loving, serving, singing...Hope you are loving it mom!

We miss you here, but I am grateful to know you will always be my mom...and we have been sealed together for eternity! I know you are preparing things for when we join you and dad! Thanks for everything! Always!
