Where oh where is my head!???

I cannot believe it is DECEMBER!!!! sooo much has been happening in my little corner of the world...and I do NOT know where life has gone!

Here is Hannah SINGING..."In my Own Little World" at her Recital...she did a GREAT job!

And Playing...she is really doing well with her music! I LOVE it when she plays and sings together!

My second grandson was born in October...Levi Cooper..and WHAT a joy he is! He and Thatcher are best of friends!

I got to take Thatcher to the County fair in November, LOTS of fun!

He HATED the rides...LOVED the cotton candy...and LOVED the animals from a distance! GREAT memories!!!

Graham had a great year at football....not many pics as they are night games

Number 40 had his name called for many tackles this year...he earned a starting position as inside linebacker and LOVED it!

He had his football banquet this week and he won the Character award! This was his first year as Varsity player. He really enjoyed it! He is now gearing up for Diving and swim team for the school! He is STILL the energiser bunny....just keeps going and going! Something new all the time!

Life is GOOD...Come what may and love it has been a very fitting theme. As this year comes to a close, I think back and look at what I have done, and it is truly a blessing...an RN again, it seems like a lifetime ago I wrote the exam, and now I am working! I have TWO grandsons... FANTASTIC! DOUBLE the pleasure! Double the fun! (If anybody else is old enough to remember that commercial...) Mark had a great recovery from his surgery..I met wonderful friends...we got to travel lots to see Graham play...but also got to see family in ATL! All is all a GREAT year! It is sooo crazy we only have two kids at home anymore! Scott is doing great at UGA...first semester JUST about over! It is fun to watch him grow and mature..and LOVE the college life! Next step...a mission.

SO many Blessings....gotta LOVE it!

Blessings in September!~

September 2, 2009, Mark and I left the house for Charleston SC. We had a room at the Marriott, which was very nice! We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary in August(!) and went for supper, so we added this nice night on our trip to Charleston... That night we went downtown and found a quaint little restaurant that was still open called Garibaldi's and had a MOST delicious dinner. Mark had the Crispy Flounder, a whole flounder that had been diamond scored and fried with a mango chipotle sauce. I had the Mahi Mahi with lump crab stuffing. Did I mention it was DELICIOUS???!!!! The soup and salad were also DELICIOUS!

The next morning we went for a walk down the battery row, and along the Ashley River. It is so beautiful there! Here is Mark with the Oleanders...

This is in the park...Great trees for climbing..I have thought about the kids when they were younger, how much fun they would have had here!

I LOVE this view! Later that day, (Sept 3) I took Mark to the MUSC...Medical University of South Carolina to have surgery. He had a Choledochal cyst, which was ressected there by Dr Kathryn Morgan. We were very happy with her as a doctor, and the hospital was very nice!

Here is a picture of him Friday...with all his tubes, BUT sitting up in the chair! He did GREAT! He had an epidural for post op pain, and it really seemed to help him alot! He had an NG tube, foley, IV, and the epidural. His recovery there went VERY well...his surgery was at 3:00pm, and was in his room by 8:00pm. That night was not restful for me, but he slept quite well with his drugs being pumped into him as he needed. Saturday he went for a short walk in the hallway a couple of times. By Sunday, he was lapping the hall 2-3 times each walk..which he did 3-4 times. They let hime have ice chips Saturday...YEAH! Sunday was met with clear liquids...the NG came out! MORE walking!!!! He got very handy with pushing his IV pole carrying all the extra gadgets he was attached to! Monday the epidural came out so did the foley, and he got to eat REAL food...NOT much appetite though! Tuesday, we got to GO HOME! YEAH! We were both excited to go, but very unsure of how well he would travel! But, as the rest of is went, he did very well! GLAD To be home!

Sunday I found the local ward for church and attended...having a bad day that day, I was hoping to go in and be unseen and unheard...well, NOT! Heavenly Father had different plans for me! I walked in and was met by a gentleman who so very warmly greeted me. Then few steps down the hallway I was greeted by a warm and friendly sister. So I decided I would sneek in the back of the chapel and the rest of the meetings would be alone. WELL....WRONGO PONGO! There sitting in the middle of the chapel were 3 families from the Augusta area...Steven's Creek ward! SO...no seeking in alone thingy here! The Jones' family, the Horton family and the Jensen's were all vacationing in Folley Beach and were at church that day. Following church the Horton Men went and visited Mark and gave him a blessing! How great was that!
Here is the vies from Mark's room! Above the building is teh Ashley river...some days I could see many sailboats cruising the river.

I was VERY blessed to have met this wonderful family...the Harmon's. Patrick(not here) is a 3rd year Medical Student at MUSC...was a youth pastor in Savannah the same time my dear friend Cheryl and Randy beach were there. Patrick and Randy worked together in the church there. Years later, the Beaches brought the Lowry's and Harmons together. They opened not only their home to me, but their hearts and family too! From left...Maddie, MacKenzie, Kitsie(mom) Masy, Mallory and little Merideth..or Bear! They REALLY were the greatest blessing to me while there! They lived a short distance from the hospital and they gave me the key and I wandered in an out as needed! The bed was WONDERFUL the food was DELICIOUS but most of all the LOVE was SOOOOO welcomed!

Tuesday morning I got up and took Maddie and Mallory to the beach for a quick dip in the ocean!
This is Folly Beach!
Maddie and Mallory

The surf....soooo much fun!

The Pier! I LOVE the beach! it is such a place of comfort to me! I am grateful to live close enought o be able to go once in a while!

This past Sunday, September 20th, was another wonderf day of blessings! Scott received the Melchezidek Priesthood. Mark ordained him an Elder!

Poppi(Dan) Crunk, Mark, Scott, Doug Lowry, Graham and Evan Mullins were in the circle! Soooo Grateful for family...adoppted and natural!
Mom and Dad! Proud parents!

The whole group of our Georgia family! Micheal, Donna and Doug Lowry. Mark, Geri, Scott Graham and Hannah Lowry. Dan and Patti Crunk, Krista, Evan and Thatcher Mullins. So sad Matt could not make it!

Summer...still!

This is Scott's 18th Birthday Party...a Murder Mystery! Set in 1955...New year's Eve!

Graham questioning Evan! WHO DUNNIT???

So intent on figuring it out...and I think they actually DID!

Best friends..BOTH finally 18!!!
Heather Riddle!
Yumm! Krista did a great job with the sprinkles!
Heather Riddle and Michael Ryan...the three musketeers along with Scott... They pulled this thing together...as a surprise, until it was "revealed" the night before!! Oh well...it was fun!
The whole group singing happy Birthday!

Pa got to spend the night with his favorite Thatcher!

Clyde and Chloe REALLY belong together ..MATT!!! They really do love each other!
Chloe had the best summer with Clyde by her side every minute!

BUT....it all came to an end when Matt took Clyde back home to Atlanta with him! She is still sad Matt!

This ends July...pretty much....It was fun..it went FAST! AND I had to work TOO MUCH! I miss the work-less summers of passed! But onward!

September AlreadY!???~~~!

Where has the summer of 09 gone??? I cannot believe it has come and gone...kids back to school...CRAZY!

So I ended with telling you that Hannah and Graham were heading off to EFY..they had a BLAST!

Aren't they AWESOME???!!!

This is Alli sorry if it is spelled wrong...Alli and Hannah are great friends..Alli lives in Lilburn...Krista's ward and Hannah LOVES to go visit her..which is another thing she got to do a few times this summer! And we get to drive her!!! :)

Graham got his lifeguarding, so he spent his summer at the pool...saving lives...really and literally! He had to pull a 3 year old out of the deep end and give her rescue breaths to get her going! He has grown so much this summer...in so many ways!

And in other ways...well....Yes that is a WALL E cake!

In June, I started my clinicals for getting my RN back...In July I finished them!!! I earned back my RN...and can now sign G. Lowry RN again! That was a HUGE relief to get that done!

In June Graham got his license...3 days...yes THREE days later...he got a speeding ticket...so he LOST his license...per mom and dad! (for a month...minus a little bit for good behavior!)

In August he got to go to court..and LOST his license to the Judge! for 30 days...minus 14 due to his dad needing surgery out of town..but that is for another post!

In July...Hannah went to YW camp with Krista's ward/stake...had a ball. Graham worked at the pool. Scott worked at the lake!

In July, Hannah and Graham went to Youth Conference...so did David Grant, the "pretty boy" Graham met at EFY...just a fun name I er... many of us called him!

Well...this is enough for this posting! See ya soon!

June's Blessings~!

WOW!~!
June has been packed full of wonderful blessings! First off, Hannah received her Patriarchal Blessing the first weekend. It is full of wonderful promises just for her! The spirit was in great abundance int he room, I am very grateful to have been a part of it!

Next off...Graham turned 16...driving, dating, etc etc etc! YIKES! Where has the time gone??? We started the celebrations with a dinner at Mi Rancho's...and had fun! He got his iShuffle and is happy! The 14th he was ordained a Priest in the Aaronic Priesthood...and it was a special occasion in and of itself, but was added to it as Scott ordained him. It was Scott's first blessing given, and it was so wonderful to be there witnessing him excercise his priesthood in that manner! Again, a spiritual day! Then today..he, Scott and Mark sat side by side to bless the Sacrament today! I am so grateful for the power of the Priesthood in my home!

Tomorrow is the first day of EFY for Graham and Hannah...Hannah's first! I am excited for their adventures there!

Last night Graham had his birthday party..a "dive-in" at Donna's pool. They had a good time, and all was well until Hannah got sad, and started crying, missing Molly...and it was soooo precious...Graham beat me over to her and picked her up in his arms and rocked her and talked to her so tenderly until he had her laughing. It was such a blessing to watch him take care of his little sister! What a great family I have!

Scott heads off tomorrow as well, bit to UGA for orientation to UGA! YIKES!!!!

How can this be true??? I am only 22!!!!!

Ramblings on a Sunday morning!

Today I woke up and as I chatted with my niece, I realized I really miss my extended family right now! Seeing pics of snow in June doesn't exactly make me want to BE there(jokes), But I really wish it wasn't so far, or so expensive to travel.

Life is great, life is busy! I look back and see so much posted about Scott, but it has been a big year for him...And now, to add...a little late...he has now graduated from High School!

It was was pouring rain when it was over...but it was a fun day! Above you see the 450 graduates we got to cheer on as they walked across the stage! I LOVE graduation day! It was a great day, Krista, Evan and Thatcher were there with us cheering Scott on, and partying afterwards too!

We had such a great time at Myron (left) and Corbin's (right) place swimming and eating and visiting! These guys have been friends since about the first day of 6th grade! Corbin and Myron have CP and use guide/work dogs...and I think that is how they met, and Scott was a helper all the way through middle and high school, whenever it was needed...like when Corbin's motorized wheelchair tipped over the curb, and Scott was there to help, as no teacher moved in and did anything. Or getting Corbin dressed for grad pictures...Myron and Corbin sitting front and center for the final show of "Beauty and the Beast"cheering him on! ... great friends forever!

We went to my Dr office and had Dr Robillard do a sonogram, to determine Krista and Evan are having ... another boy!!!! YEAH! We are all excited to welcome another Mullins boy to our family!

I am busy with the last portion of getting my RN back..I am working at Care South Home Healthcare Agency...putting in my 160 hours! Then it is DONE! Then I get/have to make a big decision as to what I am going to do! Care South is already trying to get me to work there, Dr Robillard wants me to continue working there, I really would like to work for an Oncologist in our ward, or hospice...DECISIONS!!! I still KNOW the Lord will turn me in the right direction, as He hasn't let me down before! PATIENCE....I still have NOT mastered that!

I chatted with Matt yesterday, he is in Buffalo/RochesterNY for the summer, and I am jealous he is in Canada today...camping and eating good Canadian stuff!!! AND Krista gets to go there later this month!!! Fair???? I think NOT! He is enjoying the area very much it seems...

We have a new dog these days..his name is Clyde....Matt thinks it is his dog...BUT we'll see if he gets him back after the summer! Clyde and Cloe have soooo much fun together and really enjoy each other very much! THE backyard has very little grass from them running and running and running...but they really have fun together!

Enough rambling...have a great Sabbath Day!

Eureka...I think I've found it!

This is what I live with! Mark as a child!!!??? ;)

Tuesday, May 5, 2009

YEAH!

I am doing the happy dance here as today I found that everything is once again falling into place for getting my RN back! I have been sooooo worried, although I KNOW I should't, yet I do. I KNOW that Heavenly Father is taking me by the hand and leading me to this, yet I doubt at times~! CRAZY~!!

I just set into motion the last(I hope) requirement, and found out that Ga Board of Nursing, although do not communicate, do get the job done!

If you are still reading this rambling, please forgive...but I had to tell someone! By the middle of July, I will be able to sign my name, once again, Geri Lowry RN~!
